The many wins of Peter Obi & the singular win expected from the masses

28 Feb, 2023 - By Ikenga Jonjude Okere

In our journey towards the actualization of a new and efficient Nigeria, Peter Obi has won multiple steps and degrees of achieving this great feat in favour of the masses. These wins can be broken as follows;

1. Peter Obi has won the confidence and trust of the masses in the struggle for a new Nigeria; the first of its kind.

2. He has won the competence test and seen by the masses as the best hire for the job of building that new and efficient Nigeria.

3. He has awakened the voters conciousness of the masses; now even those who felt indifferent in the past are going to get their PVC in readiness to vote.

4. He has emboldened and liberated the mindset of the people on the old negative myth that votes don't count in Nigeria. Today the masses have decided that their votes must count and they are showing so through their massive efforts in getting voters card.

5. Peter Obi has awakened the long overdue conciousness of the masses to choose from individual with competence not political parties with multiple baggage of inconsistencies and incompetence.

6. He has won the credibility text in favour of the masses by distancing himself from transactional politics. This
he did by refusing to buy delegates with money; either in dollar or naira as others did.

7. He has won the capacity test for a new political culture that awakens the reality that power actually belongs to the people and the people can choose who leads them based on their choice of the kind of government they desire.

8. Peter Obi has won the national security test that exposes the fact that competence is a detribalizer.  That sincerity, prudence, corporate efficiency and people oriented policies are the catalyst that will recover our nation from the yester-years of bad governance.

9. He has won the text of a national role model; he has demonstrated to all of us through his antecedents that character is everything.

We are enroute a new and efficient Nigeria with every body tired of the old order; with everybody badly bruised from the frustration of bad, clueless governance that has so much deeped Nigerians into financial hardship and insecurity.

The question on the front burner yearning for answer is; if Peter Obi has won these many grounds alone for the actualisation of a new and efficient Nigeria how much ready is the masses to win the consolidation of this journey through the power of our collective votes.

It is important to note that who ever wins the presidential; governorship or any election carries the insignia of the masses. This is to say that every election is lost or won by the masses against the corrupt cabal not the candidate. So Peter Obi's victory in the coming election will be the insignia of the masses stating loud the type of governance they desire. There should be no room for sell outs and laxity in our quest for a new and efficient Nigeria.
